Welcome to My Personal Page
Why I walk:
My first AIDS Walk was in 1986 in New York City when there was a tremendous Stygma to this disease and not many people wanted to get involved. I also started volunteering at the first AIDS organization and continue to do so to this day here in St. Petersburg, FL.
Attending monthly memorial services was a common thing back then. I visited patients in hospitals, served meals at the organization and delivered meals to home-bound patients too weak to leave their apartments.
Even though we have come a long way and clients live a more productive and better life, we must continue this fight so that people infected today will have access to the care and support needed to keep them healthy for years to come. I walk to increase awareness and education to stop HIV.
I walk to end HIV.
